With special attention to craftmanship, durability, and value, Shenandoah products continue to find needs and fill them successfully.

A Brief History of Shenandoah:

Beginning in 1924, the history of Shenandoah is a rich blend of tradition and innovation. From its humble beginnings in a garage in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to its present-day modern facility located in Anderson MO, Shenandoah has grown with a strong commitment to innovation, product value and customer service.

Beginning As A Poultry Innovator
Shenandoah's first premier product in the 1920's was a hot water brooding system that revolutionized the poultry industry. The Shenandoah brooder replaced colony brooders and made it possible to brood chicks in record numbers without electricity or mechanical methods of circulation. Farmers and Shenandoah alike profited from the brooders. The innovation and quality that went into its design and production became the standard for all Shenandoah products to come.
The 1939 edition of the Atlas of Rockingham County, Virginia carried this descriptive paragraph: "Shenandoah is one of the pioneer manufacturers of poultry-raising equipment in the country, and it can be truthfully stated that the marvelous growth of the poultry industry can be attributed in no small measure to the development of poultry-raising equipment in which this company has played such a large part ... Shenandoah poultry equipment is sold in the United States, Canada, and many foreign countries."

Poultry Line Expansion
From its early poultry brooders, Shenandoah's line of poultry equipment has expanded to include nests, gas brooders and incinerators. The use of Shenandoah products dramatically increased production for poultrymen, while at the same time reducing labor, time and fuel requirements, and minimizing losses.
Shenandoah has established a leadership position in several product categories of the poultry industry. Today's mechanical egg-gathering nest systems build on the good name of Shenandoah conventional nests. The nest systems, available in side belt and center belt designs, have proven to be a valuable product as labor costs increase for the grower. The Shen Glow and Shen Beam radiant brooders build on the strong brand name that Shenandoah has earned for dependable brooders, going all the way back to 1924.

Incineration For Agricultural And Medical Use
In 1962, Shenandoah applied its combustion expertise to help poultry farmers dispose of animal mortality. The line of agricultural incinerators expanded over the years to now include larger units to serve the needs of growers worldwide.

Quality Commitment
Whether it's poultry heating equipment, incinerators, or mechanical egg gathering nest systems Shenandoah products are built on quality in design, materials and workmanship. The same attention to design and quality details which established Shenandoah as a progressive manufacturer through the years is still a part of every Shenandoah product built today.
